Light, space and atmosphere

Finishes directly affect how light travels. Smooth, well-finished surfaces reflect light evenly: colors appear consistent and shadows are softer. When surfaces are uneven or poorly finished, light becomes “harsh” and highlights flaws instead of emphasizing the strengths of the space.
